Welcome!

Welcome to the 2011 Challenge!  It should be an exciting year.  As you can see, the rules are few.  Although it is not required to have a theme for all of your pieces, you may want to consider choosing one as it can make the pieces more cohesive (in case of an exhibit?) and help you come up with new work.  It also helps you work out an idea or design thoroughly.

The small size of the work is great for exploring new concepts and techniques.  Fair warning: although the pieces are small, they can take a lot of time -- or not, depending on how you decide to "play".

Timing: although we ask that you post your piece each month, we know that life is busy and sometimes the muse takes a little vacation.  Try to keep up, but don't stress.  Contact me if you're having trouble figuring out how to do something on the blog and we'll try to work through it together.

So -- are you IN?

  1. HI,
I'm in if I can figure out how to sign into this on my own. Every time I open up the blog or whatever this is to try to sign in it says I am a follower not a member. Do I have to develop a whole new sign other than what I used for the 2010 Challenge? I am already frustrated and I haven't even gotten to be aq member yet!

  3. I'm excited about this year's challenge and will get the theme fabric in the mail to Elizabeth as soon as we find our door, street, neighborhood.... We are getting a ton of snow (I live in St. Paul, MN). Welcome to all the new people!

  4. I'm in! Susan, are you just going to hang to my fabric instead of sending it to Elizabeth? I have a google account but rarely use it. Let's see how this goes!

  5. Hmmm. I'm trying this again.
Like Linda I'm a "follower". I've never used blogspot so someone will have to educate me regarding how to post and how to become a contributor. Thanks!

  6. I see you're all making comments already! Yeah! Hopefully we will be a chatty group as well as a productive one!

For those in the 2010 challenge -- that blog is still available to post the final pieces on.

  7. I, too, am excited to begin this challenge. My issues are the same as several of you. I've never used a blog and am trying this for the first time. All the help and advice you can give us will be appreciated
