May Challenge

This month's challenge I used two of my PSE edited colorways of the original challenge fabric--the very light mottled green and the very light peach. The method of construction for this piece is raw edge applique, followed by a lot of quilting to accentuate certain arcs. I drew up several designs that will become the basis of a new series of work. The rules for each design are that I use arcs that are superimposed on each other. Ideas for further investigation of this first design hit me as I was constructing this. I realized as I did the satin stitching on the arcs that I could use this very same pattern and vary the color placements and end up with a totally different end design. I am thinking that will be the June project, although I have already designed enough drawings to complete the challenge for the rest of the year:)

  2. I like this one very much! It's "classic Linda"! I'm especially drawn to the intersection that is just off center to the right. Nice colors.

  3. The colors draw you in deeper and deeper. I really love the arches and look forward to new surprises from you.

  4. I was looking at this piece again and now I see more depth in it than I noticed at first. I like the interplay of the depth and foreground -- it's an optical illusion!
